Lack There Of...

Hello all… how are you doing? I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. This week I just wanted to share something with you that I came across while reading in Mark.

Have you ever been in a situation where you are talking with someone and they absolutely refuse to believe what you said? For example you may be talking with your wife and tell her, “ hey I’m going to the store and pick you up some food.” And she won’t believe what you say, you have always got her food before, never giving her a reason to doubt and you don’t know why she is choosing now not to believe. I mean you promise her and assure her you will be right back, but she just won’t listen.

That situation can be very frustrating, and may not happen much to you but I found out that it still happens to God all the time! But in this case he is the one making promises assuring us he will do what he said but we wont believe. People always read the story of the Roman officer whose faith impressed Jesus, but I found a story that was just the opposite.

In Mark 6:1-6 it tells the story about Jesus going to his hometown and not being honored, he was treated badly and everything. At the end of the story the Bible says, “He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. He was amazed at their lack of faith.”

When I read that I had to go back I mean WOW Jesus can be amazed by our lack of faith as well as our depth in it? I don’t know about you but I’d rather have him amazed in my depth in faith than lack of.

So I encourage you no matter what you’re facing, or look like you may face. God is not a liar, his arm has not lost his strength and if you continue to believe then you will see his faithfulness no matter what.

Be strong in him;
Warrior
