Hey ya’ll. Hope everyone is having a great Sunday and will have a great week!
I’m just going to jump into where I left off last week…
Ok, last week I was talking about the faithfulness of God and what the word meant. And I left with this question “if faithfulness means to be true to ones vows and promises, then what vows did I make to you Lord, I mean what promises did I make when I turned my life over to you, what can I be true and loyal to?"
And this is the answer I got…
“The vow and promise you made me when you turned your life over was to believe in me.”
This hit me like a ton of bricks, because it was true. See nowhere in the Bible did God say he wanted our money or wanted our homes or cars. All God asked for is simply our faith! I mean true faith, he said in Hebrews 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
So that is the vow I made Jesus, to give him my faith and to believe that he is real and rewards those who earnestly seek him. And by keeping this vow ladies and gentlemen we remain faithful to God and he remains faithful to us.
Now there is one question we need to ask the Lord, and ourselves and I ask myself this question everyday… “Am I being faithful to God, in good and bad times? Does he have my complete and total faith?” I don’t ask myself this question to give me a sense of pride or to be super religious, no, I ask it because I love him so much and for me to give him anything less than my total faith would be an insult.
Please make no mistake about it… God doesn’t need us we need him. And in this world people will tell you ‘God is trying to take my money’ or ‘God is trying to take my fun’…
You know before I got saved I thought that. I really thought that if I stopped clubbing and smoking and having sex then I would have no more fun. But God was just trying to show me that I would never know what fun is until I gave him my life and he is right!
I’ll leave you with this thought. There is one thing you have that both God and the Devil want. It’s not your home, nor your car, not even your money. Neither God nor the Devil wants these things because they both have plenty of them. The only thing that matters to either of them is you faithfulness. God wants it with him and the Devil doesn’t.
So I pray you all have a blessed week, and that you take time out of your day (if you don’t already) to ask God and examine your faithfulness to him and his Son Christ Jesus.
“Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you--unless, of course, you fail the test?” 2 Corinthians 13:5
