Hey everyone! How goes it? Hope all is well with you and your fam. I won’t be long tonight, just have a little something to say about how great our Lord is!!!!
The last couple of weeks I’ve been doing a study on faithfulness, what place it has in the relationships we as humans have. Well, I know there is a whole gold mine of knowledge to be had over it and I’m just at the tip. But what I have found so far was so good that I can’t take it when I think about it! I literally get flooded with joy, peace and happiness when I think about it, and I want you to be bust with joy to.
The area of faithfulness I speak of isn’t with a woman or man, nor organization or job. Because all those things can falter and fade. But what I’m talking about is the Faithfulness of God!
The Greek word for faithful is Pistos, and it means to be trustworthy, loyal and true to ones vows. Now I thought about that for a while, and put these definitions in a scripture I found in Psalms 18:25 that says, “To the faithful you show yourself faithful; to those with integrity you show integrity.”
So I meditated and thought about that scripture. I asked myself, “ If faithfulness means to be loyal and true to ones vows and promises. Then how is God faithful, I mean what vows and promises did he make me?”
Then it hit me, and this is where the excitement came…
The Holy Spirit told me that the Bible is a book filled from cover to cover with Gods vows and promises. Promises like…
KNOWING CHRIST JESUS AND HAVE AN ACTUAL RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM.
Peace, Joy
Blessings, Protection
ETERNAL SALVATION
Prosperity, Healings
A relationship with God through Jesus
Guidance, leadership
Provision, Money
Fun, Long-life….
Just to name a few
These are a few of the probably thousands of vows God made to his people. And according to the definition of faithfulness, God is true, and loyal to these vows and to see that they happen in the lives of a believer.
But the word says that WE must be faithful and keep our vows WE have made to God so that he may be faithful to us. See a lot of people wonder why things in the Bible don’t happen to them like it does for Joe down the street. But what they don’t know is that Joe down the street is faithful to God while they aren’t.
So I asked the Lord, “ what vows did I make to you Lord, I mean what promises did I make when I turned my life over to you, what can I be true and loyal to?
And I’ll tell u next week what his answer was….
Be Blessed
