The little things… you know I’ve always heard women and men saying, “I want someone who cares about the little things.”
Ya, it’s the little things that make a difference that’s for sure, and everyone has them. As a matter of fact it’s the little things that people do that really show they care and love you.
Take a marriage for example any man can go to work, make money, pay bills and come home eat and sleep. But it’s the little things that the man does like rub his wife’s feet, cook for her and the kids, just take her shopping for no reason, or leave an I love you note on the bathroom mirror, that proves he really loves his wife, and doesn’t see her just as someone to have sex with!
Well our Lord Jesus is the same way! I used to have this idea, that God only wanted me to be saved and that’s it, every issue in life, he could really care less about. But he changed that thinking. See when I made him Lord of my life I made him Lord of ALL The little and big things in my life.
The Bible says in Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with ALL your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in ALL you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
See when the Lord says ALL he means ALL, now some of ya’ll might think I’m crazy, and ridiculous but whatever, for I know the relationship I have with my God, and I know he loves every part of me and what I care about he cares about… but anyway personally my prayer time ranges from big things like seeing loved ones saved, to little ones like God helping me with my golf swing.
I’ll leave you with this story that permanently set this in stone for me…
I was on the verge of loosing my dog Cyprus; he was being aggressive, mean and not himself. So my fiancé (wife now) and I were scared we would have to get rid of him because he might hurt someone. I was all messed up, I loved my dog, I mean I’ve had him since I was a junior in college.
So I went to the Lord in prayer over it, and claimed his promise in proverbs. At first I felt dumb and selfish I mean here I am praying over keeping a dog, when there are millions of hungry people out there I could be praying for, or some other cause. I remember I was about to stop praying and the Lord said, “STOP, don’t leave! Cast your cares on me for I CARE for you!” So I continued to pray and for about a month I thanked God that my prayers were answered.
Well, time passed and amber was looking for a trainer, she said she found one and she would meet up with us and tell us if Cyprus was trainable or a lost cause. I will always remember that day I was so nervous, when the trainer pulled up and she stepped out and to my AMAZEMENT it was a woman who was my Sunday school teacher when I was a kid!!! She met Cyprus trained him and he is a new dog and we got to keep him.
When I saw her it hit me like a ton of bricks… “ God, the maker of heaven and earth, and all the galaxies in space actually cares about me and my Dog!”
Now my dog may be a little thing to you but to the Lord and me it’s a big thing. He said in 1 Peter 5:7 “Cast your cares on him for he cares for you.”
So I encourage you to talk to God about the little things that matter to you, the things no one else knows but you and Christ Jesus. Don’t let religion distort or water down how much Jesus really cares and loves you; he wants you happy and smiling!
Shoot! If he loves us enough to die for us, than he loves us enough to do anything else we ask that’s in-line with his will right !?
“If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much MORE will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” Matt 7:11
But these scriptures only apply to those who know the Lord and believe that he is the true Son of God. If you haven’t made that decision you need to. Because the salvation of your soul through Christ Jesus is the greatest gift ever!
Love ya’ll
