How Do I Know I Know?

What’s up everyone? I hope everyone is good. Recently I have been hearing a lot of good news from people about how God healed, delivered, and provided for them! I hope to hear more of this stuff from you all.

To end this segment on knowing the Lord I want to talk about how we can know for sure that we know him (I know that is a tongue twister). And the answer to that question can be found in an answer to another question….

I’m going to ask one single question that how you answer will determine if you know him or not…. “Do you obey the Lord?” Jesus says in John 14:21, “Whoever has my commands and OBEYS them, he is the one who LOVES ME. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and SHOW MYSELF to him."

See its one thing to have his commandments but it’s a totally different thing to obey them. Now I thought about that and took it into prayer and told the Lord that it is impossible to obey him 24/7. And he reminded me that you could if you continue to follow his Sprit. And he also told me that even when we mess up and sin (WHICH IS NOT OBEDIENCE) that we can come back confess our sins be forgiven and continue to follow him (WHICH IS OBEDIENCE).

Please make no mistake about it sin is not ok or acceptable. Don’t listen to the world we are not proving Gods love when we sin we are actually discrediting it. But anyway back on topic…

Obeying the Lord is the only way you get to know him, read his word find out what he likes and doesn’t like. Some things we do may be ok to us but horrible to him. That’s why we need a constant prayer life and relationship with the Holy Spirit!

Here are more scriptures about obedience. They deal with what it does and what it will do if we continue to walk in it. And these are for the young and old, the new believer and the spiritually mature!

Philippians 3:7-9
“I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ.

1 John 2:4-6
“If someone claims, “I know God,” but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth. But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.”

John 10:14-15
"I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.”

Luke 9:23
“Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me.”
