Take Home Test

Have you ever heard the phrase “check ya self?” I know you have. Shoot I heard it so much growing up from my mama I cant forget it. Well in the middle of January the Holy Spirit told me that all Gods children need to do that DAILY! So I want to share with you all what he said.

Now most of you know this but it’s easy to forget, we can get so caught up in work, school and just plain ole life that our behavior may change and we may not even realize it.

You know the Bible is so practical it’s almost unbelievable. It talks about continual obedience to the Lord will clear us and keep us from all sin (1 John 3:6). But as the Lord pointed out we can easily fall out of obedience and stay there while we think we are still in obedience to him.

That’s why the devil is called the father of lies because we can be doing something and its actually a sin, but the enemy whispers to us ‘it’s ok your not sinning’ than we keep doing what we do and fall into all kinds of crap… trust me I know from experience L

You know Paul said it real smooth in 1 Corinthians 4:3, he said, “I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.”

So Paul is saying even though his conscience is clear and he could care less what any court has to say. All that doesn’t stand up to the Lords judgment.

EX: It’s like me flirting with another women when I’m about to be married. And to me it seems fine, and no body else thinks its wrong. But in Gods holy eyes it’s a form of adultery. And if I don’t take the time to ask God to examine me I will keep on doing it. And it will lead to other sins.

So Gods examination is one thing, but our own self-test is another. Our test will always be sub par to Gods so that’s why we need both to have an affective evaluation.

The word says in 2 Corinthians 13:5 that “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?”

So that’s what the Holy Spirit told me and this is the test that I devised from scripture to put and keep myself in check. Everyday when I get some down time and pull this paper out and look at this stuff, it helps me I hope it will help you all.

ü Know that I am only made right in Gods sight when I believe in Jesus to take away my sins. Romans 3:22
ü Now that I believe I know that faith is what’s pleasing to GOD, and that I must back my faith by my works because faith with no works is DEAD! Hebrews 11:6, James 2:20
ü Now what is my works? It is obeying the Lord. So check and make sure that I’m…
o Obeying God
o Not disobeying him by:
§ Sinning out of ignorance
§ Not habitually doing what I know are wrong
§ Not continuing to do things that I know are wrong on purpose
o Knowing that I’m working to glorify him and not me. John 7:18
ü By me obeying him I continue to live in him. 1 John 2:5-6
And by continuing to live in him I won’t and can’t sin. 1 John 3:6 (NLT)
