A Free Gift!!

Hello my fellow warriors, I hope and pray you had a blessed week!

Last week we discussed the Ephesians 6:13-17 which talks about the armor of God that we must put on to stand against the enemy in the day of evil. The used me to break down each part of the armor, we started with the belt of truth and we will continue to the chest plate of righteousness.

Vine's Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words defines ‘righteousness’ as being right or just, or uprightness. So basically righteousness is our being right before God to be able to stand in his courts with no shame or discouragement. However, where does righteousness come from?

Well the Bible is very clear on where it came. In Roman 5:17 “ For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.” So you see friends there is no way to earn his righteousness for it is a gift wrapped in the fleshly wrapping paper of Jesus!

Now that you know where righteousness comes from you must know how to obtain it. In John 1:29 the Word of God says, “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look! The Lamb of God (Jesus) who takes away the sin of the world!” So righteousness is only obtained by a person’s faith that Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Because in the previous scripture it says he takes away the sins of the world, and later on in John it says that who ever believes in him (Jesus), will not perish but have ever lasting life. Some people think that they don’t need the Lord Jesus to stand before God, well with out him you cant even get passed the front door! John 14:6 “Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except THROUGH ME.”
So do not be mislead beloved, Jesus is the only way you can stand in his presence and fellowship with him.

Now that we know where righteousness comes from and how to get it, I want to tell you the great blessing that comes from being righteous. In Ephesians 3: 12 God said, “Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence assured of his glad welcome.” This means that we can stand right in front of God face to face and fellowship with him talk with him and just chill in his presents! Do not believe that lie of the enemy that you are a lowly worm, and can’t speak to your creator!

But I must warn you all. What I have showed you in the Bible about righteousness is true, but to be righteous you must act righteous. You cant live like Hell on Monday through Saturday, and than come up in church and think you are ok in The Lords presents, trust me your not the Lord calls that HYPOCRISY!!!
