Tell Your Story

Hey everyone! It has been a long time since the last post. A lot of folks have come up to me asking if the blogs were over and the ministry shutdown… Well that’s not the case, and I’m sorry for the wait I had to take the summer off to get some stuff in line with my book, work and life in general… but WE ARE BACK!

Now just because the blogs had stopped doesn’t mean I have stopped writing, in fact I have been writing down certain things I encountered throughout the summer that I though would be a good posts, things that I thought would help and bless people because it helped and blessed me.

One of those things was this experience I had while taking some teens to ceta canyon for a over night retreat. While we were there we did the usual you know hiked, ropes course and all that. But that night we were all around the campfire making smores and telling ghost stories having a good time. Well some how the ghost stories turned into stories about encounters with spiritual beings, which naturally led to talking about religion.

Well there were kids from every walk of life… we had a mix of Muslims, Agnostics and Christians they were all awesome kids so full of life and curiosity. All the teens in the group started sharing there own personal religion and what they thought while the counselors and I just sat back and listened little, did we know what was about to happen.

When it came time for one particular girl to speak up she let it rip… with every since of kindness and love in her voice and heart she began to share her testimony about what Jesus did for her. She told us how her dad kicked her out of her home in the dead of winter with only her PJ’s and no money, and how she came to find the lord. Well like wild fire someone else told there testimony and then another and so on.

While watching the faces of those kids from other religions I saw amazement that the story teller had this experience with this Jesus and this God, they looked so interested and looked as if they had been missing out on the greatest thing ever.

See the funny thing about the Lord is when one person has been really touched by him you cant shut them up it’s like you have this hunger in you that feels like it can never be filled. Later that night in our cabin the boys were still up talking about the Bible and Jesus with emphasis on all he had done for them and their families… I had to finally shut the conversation down so we could go to bed…it was awesome!

While lying in bed I heard the Holy Spirit tell me, “Just tell your story” I thought what in the world did he mean? Then he said, “the most powerful witnessing tool you have is your personal testimony, those teens all they did was just told their story and look at the result… lives were changed and hearts began to open up to me.”

I was truly flabbergasted and impressed with the courage and pride these kids had in Jesus, and what really impressed me was the love and compassion for they had for the others. They didn’t yell and scream REPENT REPENT YOU SINNER they just simply and kindly told their story.

So I encourage all of you to do the same… while at work, the grocery store or wherever you may go brag on your God tell anyone who will listen about how God came through for you or how Jesus stepped in and saved you.

The tongue is the most powerful weapon on earth and if we use it to just lovingly “Tell Your Story” you’ll be surprised at the good it will cause.
