The Deadliest Warrior

You know one of my favorite shows is the Deadliest Warrior that comes on spike. If you haven’t seen it it’s a great show. These three guys… a scientist, computer expert and doctor go back and research some of the world’s most hard core fighters then they pair them with other warriors and at the end do a simulation to see who would win if they actually met in combat.

It’s an awesome show because they test the weapons the warriors fought with by using them on dead pigs or ballistic gel torso’s to see the damage it caused its full of blood and guts real manly you know. Well it always strikes me as funny that they test the world’s most deadly warriors and weapons both from the past and present but they never ever test the most efficient and deadliest warrior that has ever and will ever walk the earth…. Jesus Christ.

Now when I say deadly I’m not talking about actually killing someone because Jesus came so we may have life and have it to the full, however I’m talking about how deadly he is to the enemy! The devil who is the enemy of Christ is destroyed every time his name is mentioned… now I know these old warriors think they are tough but you have to be a pretty cold dude if someone only has to mention you name and your enemies tremble.

Jesus is the ultimate warrior he is the only one to lay down his life WILLINGLY and then turn around and resurrects it from the dead. He is the only one who stood and fought the enemy and NEVER lost one battle even when he was tired, thirsty and hungry. Even at his weakest point Jesus our champion stood tall and never fell.

You know a warrior isn’t someone who just goes out and kills and conquers everything he sees, but a true warrior is someone who protects and fights for those who can’t fight for themselves. And that’s the situation we all fall in, there is no way on earth we can take on the devil and his demons ourselves… we would be demolished every time. But when we get with the one who has already won the battle we will be just fine.

Think of it this way, if you were a kid and you had this same bully picking on you and always beating you up and even though you have tried you could never fight back. So you went and got your big brother and when he shows up he tells the bully, “Leave my brother alone wait, didn’t I already beat you up before?”

See that’s how our God defends his children, I learned this a while back when I kept trying to fight temptation on my own I tried to fight by will power and mind power. It worked every once and a while but I eventually fell to it, but I learned to stay in the one who has already won the fight and gave me the victory and things go a lot smoother now.

I’m not saying I’m perfect or that we don’t have to fight by no means all I’m saying is fight but do it with the one who has already won… and the fight will be over before it starts!

For anyone out there who feels like your fighting alone and you keep losing your battle.. read Psalm 91, it makes the point perfectly.
