What’s up everyone!!! Hey quick shout out to all the students who are about to walk that graduation stage next weekend, that also goes for the college grads too.
Ok, this is the 3rd installment of the series “5 check points to life.” So far we discussed the heart and soul, looking more in depth on how we are supposed to love the lord with these things. This week I wanted to talk about the mind, and share my opinion on how we can love the Lord with it.
When studying this part out I took that word “mind” Jesus used in giving the greatest commandments and ran it through the Strong’s Concordance and Dictionary. When I did that it showed me that the very root meaning of that word is… the understanding, thoughts, and way of thinking.
Now this is very straightforward and obvious. When Jesus is saying to love the Lord with all you mind in Mark 12:30 he is basically saying to love him with all your way of thinking.
Like I said this isn’t rocket science. Any person who has read the New Testament should know that if your going to be a Christian and follow Christ, you must change the way you think… that’s what repentance is. You cant be purposefully thinking sinful thoughts and think that is ok with God.
For anyone who didn’t know that… sorry to ruin the party but it’s true. No matter what your pastor, Sunday school teacher or homeboy tells you sinful thinking is not cool. Don’t believe me? Read the gospels and hear what Jesus has to say.
For instance… before I got saved and came to know Christ, I was addicted to sex. I had a lust spirit that ran my way of thinking. But now since I’m a new creation in Christ Jesus I let the Holy Spirit run the way I think. And this is how I accomplish that commandment Jesus set forth.
Now I’m not talking about having a bad thought cross your mind, or a tempting thought to cuss your husband out because he forgot to pick up the milk, after all you are human. I’m talking about constantly having the way we think sinful, or staying on that tempting sinful thought that came up.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. -Romans 12:2
Not trying to be preachy or anything like that…this is just some stuff the Lord showed me recently and I wanted to share!!!
I Love You ALL;
Warrior
