Hey everyone! I’m glad you all enjoyed last weeks post, Shelly is going to have it in march and from what I hear she has A LOT for you all.
I just wanted to share something I read the other day, which I had always seen it one way but recently the Lord showed me another way to look at it, let me intro with a story though….
My wife, my beautiful, young, BIG HEADED wife the other day called me when I was closing up at work and asked me to pick her up something on the way home. I said sure babe what’s up? She then stuttered and cleared her throat, then asked me to go to Wally World and get her some uh… how do I say this?? Well let’s just say, she asked me to get some GIRLY ITEMS… if you catch my drift!
Now mind you I am a man, and as a man I avoid at all costs to go near that isle in the store when we shop. I mean I will go look at fishing and hunting stuff when she goes to get them just to reinsure my masculinity!
Any way being a new husband I did it with extreme disdain, when I went to the isle I covered my head with my hoodie, grabbed them and put them inside my jacket and went through the SELF-checkout and sprinted out!
And on my way out I remember growling and talking under my breath about having to do it, then the Lord spoke to me in a clear voice and said, “hey be thankful you have a wife to do this for!” and instantly I felt that calm conviction in my heart stopped right in that parking lot and lifted my hands and told the lord thank you.
See I want everyone to understand that we need to be thankful; I feel as a human race we take things for granted sometimes, I know I do. Our pastor just got back in town for his crusade and showed us footage of these people’s houses! My God yall some of these folks homes were so small, that the office my boss and I share at work is bigger, but that video showed those same people jumping and praising God!
These people have no carpet, barley a roof and no room. And here I am in apartment with central air and heat, typing on a computer and drinking juice out of a glass. The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.” And again in Ephesians 5:20, “always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Now God does want you successful and to have things, but he also wants you to be thankful for what you have. So here I am having the nerve to complain about getting my wife something she needs, when some one somewhere doesn’t have a wife to even ask them to do anything, or had one but lost her.
So as you go through your day take time to think and thank God for all the good in your life because he brought it there. God ONLY brings good to our lives.
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:17
Be blessed and live thankful
We love you all
