Ok to the blog… this isn’t anything big just a little snippet of stuff I want to share.
You know when I played college basketball I was a post player. And anyone who has ever played post knows that it’s a MANS POSITION, I mean you go to war every time on the block. Anyway at WT I had an assistant coach who would always scream, “WORKOUT WILL!” When I got the ball on the block. And for those who are illiterate in basketball lingo he was saying, “SCORE!”
Anyway, the Holy Spirit is my new coach and the a while ago he screamed “WORKOUT WILL,” to me about my faith. See I had gotten lazy and complacent. I’m not saying I was in sin or not acting like a Christian, I’m just saying that I wasn’t expecting God for anything. I was just content where I was.
Don’t get me wrong, contentment is good the Bible talks about it and says we should be content with what we have. But it also says that we should ALWAYS BE in hopeful and expecting good things from God. I think there may be to many people who have stopped trying to grow in the Lord, yes they are saved and right with God and YES THAT IS MORE THAN ENOUGH, but there is always room for growth.
In 1 Corinthians 13:7 the Bible says, “Love never gives up, never loses FAITH, is always HOPEFUL, and endures through every circumstance.”
Picture it like this… if you once worked out constantly, and got comfortable with were you were at with your weight and appearance, you might slack off and chill for a while. But when you get back to the workout, man you are ready to die its so hard and long. Well I think it’s the same spiritually if you get lazy and complacent with where you are in the Lord and don’t try to grow more than when you do try to grow more and use your faith to get bigger better things in life its going to be harder than before… at least it was with me.
All I’m saying is don’t get lazy… the Bible says in Romans 12:11, “Never be LAZY, BUT WORK HARD AND SERVE THE LORD ENTHUSIASTICALLY.” I think the goal of every Christian should be to get so close to the Lord that you know him more than you know yourself. To have a David mentality for the things of God is awesome.
So I encourage you to never be lazy and complacent… always strive for growth, wisdom and understanding.
Love You All;
Warrior
