What’s going on everyone, hey one quick thing before I start.

I’d like it if everyone would take time to pray for First Baptist Church of Maryville Illinois, if you havent heard already the church was recently a victim of a shooting. Today a man walked in right up to the pulpit and shot the pastor to death! And also wounded two other members who tackled him to the floor. So take sometime and pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ up their, and for everyone. This is a horrible tragedy and an open attack on the Kingdom of God, but it wont prevail because my Bible tells me that “Greater is he that’s in me than he that’s in the world”.

Remember how I talked about the Blood last week and how it is the only thing that cleanses us from sin? And how once we confess our sins he forgivess us and forgets it making it as though we have never sinned.

Well that’s the sunny side, but I really want to flip it and show you the other side of it that sadly most of the millions of professing Christians don’t know.

A while ago the Lord showed me that the people who fall away from him fall into two categories. The Uneducated Thinkers and the Educated Knowing Abusers.

The Uneducated Thinkers:

The first type The Uneducated Thinkers are those talked about in 1 John 3:6 “Anyone who continues to live in him will not sin. But anyone who keeps on sinning does not know him or understand who he is.” These uneducated thinkers think they know God because they have been to church, prayed a prayer, and maybe even been dunked in a baptismal pool. And due to bad teaching and warping of the scriptures they never really comprehend the message of the Gospel. They do not know that we are required to live HOLY lives and the only way to do that is to follow Jesus. Or they may not know about the Blood and how it cleanses us from all wrong if we only ask. Shoot you can be a 99 year old and still not know this stuff, I was born and raised in church and never really got it until I was 21.

Educated Knoweing Abusers:

Now the educated knowing abusers is a whole different egg to cook. They are perfectly sumed up in Hebrews 10:26 “Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins.” So these people know full well not to sin or that a certain thing they do is sin, but they continue to do it anyway, and they never ask for forgiveness for whatever reason and when they do they still think about it and have it in their hearts with every intention to do it again. And the Bible says that they have received the FULL KNOWLEDGE of the truth. So I asked myself what the full knowledge of the truth was? It’s not only knowing not to sin but its also knowing how to get forgiveness for sin, they know about the Blood and what it does. I used to be like this, I would say to myself, “ Well I know sleeping with this girl is wrong but I’m horny so… I’ll just ask for forgiveness later.” Or I would do something, pray for forgiveness but still be thinking about it in my mind and never had a true repentant heart because I knew I was going to do it again. See I knew about the Blood but abused it, never fully repenting.

I know this is real text heavy but I must get this point across because the Bible says that both of these two are bad and sums both types up perfectly, “It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness (Uneducated thinkers), than to know it and turn their backs on the holy commandment that was committed to them (Educated Knowing Abusers).” 2 Peter 2:21

And I don’t want to see anyone fall into these traps. Now some of you may be angry with me thinking I’m point Gods finger at you but I’m really pointing it at me! For years I was a backslider and knew it. I remember driving home scared that I would get into a wreck and die and go to hell because I knew better than what I was doing. But then the Lord saved me and showed me all this stuff and I want to share it with you! Next week I will top it all off with the one thing you can do that will ASSURE you that you will never fall into this trap.
