What’s going on everyone? Today is going to be a short one but a good one!!!!
But before I start I just want to say I’m a little nervous because I just watched selection Sunday and my Jayhawks have a hard and rough road ahead in their bracket… I hope my boy at Texas J Mason, and AJ at Oklahoma do well though!!!!
Alright last week I spit a lot of stuff at you and I hope it was some help… but the Lord told me after I was done that I was putting WAY to much thought into this thing about falling into sin, apostasy or being a hypocrite.
See I spent so much time doing that in the past I’ll DIE before I go back to it… so my mind reels and runs making sure I’m not falling into that.
And finally the end all be all stepped in and put my mind to ease one morning when I read John 15:10 when Jesus said, “When you obey me, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father and remain in his love.” And in 1 John 2:3-6 “3We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands… 5But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: 6Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.”
So complete obedience to the Lord and his word assures us that we can’t fall into any of the sins I mentioned above. Because we are commanded, absolutely commanded to LOVE him with all our HEART, MIND, SOUL, and STRENGTH and TO LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS OURSELVES. And while we are doing that there is no room for sin to get in because we are giving God our all.
Even if we fall in one of these areas and come back to him and ask for forgiveness while confessing what we did was wrong. We still are showing obedience because we are doing what he told us to do when we sin. (NOT THINKING SINNING IS OK OR ACCEPTABLE BECAUSE THE BIBLE MAKES IT VERY CLEAR THAT ITS NOT)
So complete and total obedience is the ultimate assurance that we will stay in the Lord and he will stay in us!!!
So take some time and read John chapters 15 and 16 along with Mark 12:29-30 and 1 John chapters 1-3. Than ask the Lord to show you if you obeying him like he wants you to and ask him where you can improve. I did and he showed me a lot
Be Blessed
