A Dangerous Trap

What’s going on everyone!!!! This is Shelly’s month to write but I have something that is REALLY important to share with you. As a matter of fact what I’m about to tell you is vital to your Christian life.

Let me start with a story…

This past week I had been hearing this voice telling me that what I was doing wasn’t pleasing the Lord, and all of my good deeds were going for nothing. Well instantly I thought it was the devil so I rebuked him in Jesus name and went on. Well the voice and what I was feeling in my spirit never left.

So finally I took it to the Lord in prayer and he revealed to me that the voice never left because it was his spirit telling me and not the devil! So after I freaked out I asked him why was the Spirit telling me that all my works were going for nothing and I wasn’t pleasing him anymore?” then he simply answered me and said… “You have forgotten your 1st love son! all your obeying, tithing, giving and serving is going for not because you are forgetting the ONLY reason you are saved and the ONLY person who saved you” then he said “ don’t get so caught up in your works that you forget me! Remember, your works keeps you right with me but your faith MADE you right to begin with.”

So I repented and the holy spirit led me to read Revelation 2:1-17 and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I was turning into that church Jesus was talking to in the scripture! Then I read Ephesians 2:9 when it talks about our righteousness isn’t by works lest anyone boast.

Then he told me, “this isn’t just you son, go and tell my people of this dangerous trap! Tell them not to get caught up in trying to earn thier righteoussness and forget the righteous one Christ Jesus!”

So I just want to warn you in love PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not mess up like I did, I love you and Jesus too MUCH for this lie of the enemy to steal his sheep.

But do not get me wrong though because I AM NOT endorsing this movement saying that we had nothing to do with our own salvation!!!! Because the Bible says we have a part to play to, we have to repent, believe and live right and obey all the commands of the Lord.

But our good acts and obedince to him isn’t to gain our righteousness, but it is to prove our righteousness that we have through faith in the only right one CHRIST JESUS!!

Also I want to leave you with this, the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 13:5, “Examine yourselves to see whether you are still in the Christian faith. Test yourselves! Don't you recognize that you are people in whom Jesus Christ lives? Could it be that you're failing the test.”

I was failing this test and I do not want you to do the same!

See, I can boast over a trophy I won, or a car I bought because I did something to get them. But I can’t boast over a gift given to me. So it is with salvation we can’t earn this prize or be good enough to win it or buy it, no, but it is a precious gift given to use by Aba Father in the form of Christ Jesus.
