Forgiveness

What’s crackin party people? I hope everyone had a good week; I believe that this one coming up will be the best of all for you!

I don’t know about you but I can't believe that this semester is already gone. Some of my good friends are about to graduate and I’m five months away from walking myself and saying I DO crap!!!!! I’m just playin ;) it is such a blessing to go to school, graduate and marry the woman of your dreams.

Anyway….

Remember I told you last week what the word Preach meant and how it is defined as, “publishing or publicly declaring something.” Well I’m picking up from there and for the rest of the month I am going to publicly declare the Good News of the Lord Jesus!

Some of this stuff may be elementary to some but 1st time knowledge for others… so just bare with me.The first thing I want to talk about is Forgiveness. Over the years this has been watered down by men and completely re-arranged from the way the Bible says.

On one side you have people who totally manipulate it to fit them for example I used to say this in my head, “ok I know it is a sin to sleep with someone who I’m not married to, but… I’m going to do it anyway because all I have to do is ask for God to forgive me and he will.”

And on the other hand some people have been lied to by a false religious doctrine, which says, GOD WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU, YOU SINNER!!!! And even worse they put some ‘forgiveness system’ in place that makes it impossible to gain forgiveness. Jesus said in Luke 11:46 "And you experts in the law, woe to you, because you load people down with burdens they can hardly carry, and you yourselves will not lift one finger to help them." .But let me tell you what the Word of God, which is absolute truth, says about it.

Jesus makes it VERY VERY VERY clear that we DO NOT have a license to sin, like the first example. The Bible says, “God will not be mocked ever sin will be judged” and it says in Hebrews 10:29, “Just think how much worse the punishment will be for those who have trampled on the Son of God, and have treated the blood of the covenant, which made us holy, as if it were common and unholy, and have insulted and disdained the Holy Spirit who brings God’s mercy to us.”

But here is the Good News; there is no such thing as GOD WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU, YOU SINNER, Jesus loves sinners he loved us enough to die for us and the only thing that washes our many many sins away is the precious blood that he shed. In Romans 5:9 it says, “And since we have been made right in God’s sight by THE BLOOD of Christ, he will CERTAINLY save us from God’s CONDEMNATION.” And in Ephesians 1:7, “He is so RICH IN KINDNESS and grace that he purchased our freedom with THE BLOOD of his Son and forgave our sins.”

So now that you know this I urge you to confess your sins to the Lord, ask for forgiveness and plead the blood of Jesus to wash it away. Than repent and ask him in the name of Jesus to help you not do it again.

If you are diligently and deliberately sinning STOP IT in Jesus name, you are killing yourself! Trust me I did it every day for 9 years I know! But if you are just having trouble accepting forgiveness accept it there is nothing you can do to ‘get’ it, because it is a free gift. To both types of people THE LORD LOVES YOU and wants you to get this gift of forgiveness! Because we all have sinned and broken the heart of God.

Although the Bible does specify one unforgivable sin and it isn’t suicide. We must Be forgiven and forgive others to be right with God no matter how hard it is! But the Good news is that we have a Lord that will help us every step.

“You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the blood of Abel.” Hebrews 12:24
