"A WHINY WARRIOR"

Wow what a week!!! I am pleased to say that it is finallly over! Well guys this is my last week on here for a while... I pray that you all have been blessed by the blogs this month. Thank you for taking the time to let me minister to y'all.... This weeks blog is called 'A Whiny Warrior"
The LORD, the LORD, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation- ISAIAH 12:2

When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon... he said"The Lord is with you, mighty warrior" (Judges 6:12). I don't know about you.. but I see a warrior as a guy with rippling muscles in his arms and legs, a hairy chest and a flat ripped stomach. I see him having a tall imposing presence who just might turn to the lord and very modestly say, "Well, thank you... I'll do what I can."
But NO Gideon the "mighty warrior" turned to the angel of the Lord and started whining!! God was telling Gideon that he'd been chosen to deliver the Isrealites from the cruelty of the Midians. Gideon's whiny response. "If the Lord is with us, why has this all happened to us?"(6:13). His response to Gods call to deliver his people was countered with a string of excuses: "I'm too weak for the job" (6:15); "How do I know you're really talking to me?"(6:17); "I need a sign" (6:36-40).
Except for the rippling muscles and hairy chest, :) I can totally identify with Gideon. The fear of not being strong enough or even spiritual enough for whatever God calls me to do is a struggle. And yet, the key to my own strength is the same as it was for Gideon: ''Then the spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon" (6:34). The reality for Gideon and for us is that unless the Spirit of the Lord equips us for a task, we are indeed too weak. We are not born MIGHTY warriors; the Spirit of God makes us so......
