DISCIPLINES for DESCIPLES

What’s crackin my friends?

I hope everyone had a blessed week and I pray you will have an even better one this 1st month of October.

This week I want to talk to you what the Lord showed me…. You know when you were kids and you got a whopping your parents would say, “I’m doing this because I love you.” Well when we were kids we couldn’t wrap our minds around that statement. I would always say, “If you love me why am I getting whooped!?”

Now that I’m older I know what my parents really meant. They loved me enough o discipline me so I wouldn’t go down the wrong path.

Well the Lord is the same way, and BOY did I get a “whooping” in the spirit. The Lord shows me things all the time and sometimes he shows me something’s that I didn’t want to know about myself. No one likes to have his or her faults laid out, right? See we humans hate to be corrected, and we will snap at anyone even God if they point out our shortcomings.

But in Proverbs 3:11-12, “My child don’t ignore it when the Lord disciplines you, and don’t be discouraged when he corrects you. For the Lord corrects those he loves just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.”

Please make no mistakes about it yall, when the Lord brings to light things about use its not because he hates you or wants you to feel like crap, but it’s because he Loves you so much and wants you to succeed in everyday life!

But like I said in the beginning the Lord dealt with me and showed me something’s that I was doing could and needed to be done better.

Well one of my prayers to the Lord is to make me a better disciple and Thank God he answers. I’m a BIG movie fan and I love Will Ferrell. At work me and my co-workers always quote “Talladega Nights”, “Anchor Man”, and “Ole’ School” pretty much all Will Ferrell’s flicks.

That’s all fine and good I’m not in sin by quoting them and laughing with my buddies, I don’t curse and I stay away from the obscene and sexual parts. But this morning the Lord told me “you have been quoting more of the worlds movies and less of my scriptures”

And after I thought about it and realized he was right, AS ALWAYS, I quickly asked for forgiveness and confessed, I quickly asked the Holy Spirit to help me and asked God how I could fix it.

So my friends no man is to big for correction, and when the lord is the one doing the correcting you know for sure he is on your side… Hebrews says, “For the Lord DISCIPLINES THOSE he LOVES, and he PUNISHES each one he ACCEPTS AS HIS CHILD.
